The first FIVE people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice, for you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.
Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer to do the same for the first 5 people who respond to the post. Sounds like fun, right? So let's play!

Fancy Headers are big HEADACHES!!!!!

While I was visitng Rachel she showed me how she made her cute, fancy headers. I thought I was paying really good attention, but apparently I wasn't. I couldn't get the layering to work or the move to front, move to back thingie and deleted and restarted the whole thing 3 times. I didn't save it in the correct format 2 times before I remembered it has to be a JPEG. I resized the stupid thing 5 times to get it to fit in the border and it still sticks out on the right side! Ahhhhhhhh! I say good enough for my first try w/o the ol' training wheels aka a super smart little sister.

Happy Schmalentine's Day!

I offered to babysit Sophia on V-day so Anne and Hy could go out and have some fun and Anne generously invited me to share their special dinner; this is how the convo went after she extended the invite...

Hyrum: "Whaaaat? Now I'm going to have to buy an extra lobster tail!"
Me: "I don't eat lobster"
My Mom: "Just give her a hotdog and she'll be fine"
Me: "Heeeey!"
Anne: "Do you like Chicken Cordon Bleu?"
Me: "Yes, I do, that would be great, thank you."

Geez, why don't I just take my hotdog and the baby and go upstairs so I don't bother the people at the big kids table! (Mom and Hy)

Anywho, we had our lovely dinner on Saturday (thanks for cooking Hy and Anne thanks so much for making me a part of your evening!) After dinner we played with Sophia, gave her a bath, and put her to bed. Anne and Hy went to a wedding reception and came back early so we talked for a while and then I headed home. I think my "Day for Lovers" ended pretty well.

My first visit to Buffalo!

Rachel found a smokin deal on Southwest Airlines that I couldn't pass up so at the beginning of Feb. I made my way to Buffalo, NY. I was there from Wed. - Sun. and had such a good time. Doug as usual was studying away for multiple exams, but this gave me lots of one on one time with my wittle sister.

We checked out Main St. and looked in a few pricey boutique stores (all I could afford in one of them was a cute magnetic note pad) and had lunch at a really good sandwich shop that was recommended by one of the shopkeeps.

Of course we had to check out the mall and the a Cheesecake Factory there; that was our first stop. After that we did some window shopping and then I realized that I hadn't packed a dress for when we went to the temple. Duh! So I got a super cute dress at New York and Co. and it was on sale (Doug immediately mocked me for that statement "but it was on saaaale").

Rachel gave my hair a trim and I was bored with plain old brown so now I'm a red head. I really like the color and as usual Rachie always does a fabu job!

I got a Cricut for myself at Christmas time so I cut out a few vinyl sayings to put on Rach's walls. We only got the one in the kitchen done, the process took a lot longer then we thought it would and now we totally understand why people charge so much for them. You can tell it's our first time putting one up but we learned a few things and then next try I'm sure will be a success!

Rach and I went to see "He's Just Not That Into You" and really enjoyed it. After the movie was over I suggested we see another and that was just crazy talk to her! I guess I really don't think much about the cost of things cause I only have myself to budget for. We saw "Coraline" and I was not impressed...oh well.

Doug finally graced us with his presence on Friday, he drove us up to Niagra Falls and I got to use my new passport to cross over into Canada. Brrrr it was cold, but the Falls are beautiful and there was a rainbow! We went to the Hershey's store and the Coca Cola store and then headed back to the states. Most of the touristy stuff was closed cause it's the off season.

on Saturday when we drove to Palmyra. We took a quick tour of the Smith Family Farm and got to walk thru the Sacred Grove. We did some temple work and then went into town to see the print shop where the first 5,000 copies of the Book of Mormon were printed. It was an amazing experience, but I felt like we had to rush thru it cause we didn't want to be late for our temple appt and then we had to met Rach and Doug's friends for dinner at PF Changs. I will definately be going back, most likely in the spring or summer to take in more church histroy sites.

Thanks for having me Puddy and Duck! Love you tons!

Boooo! 6 more weeks of Winter!

"The world's most famous groundhog saw his shadow Monday morning, predicting this already long winter will last for six more weeks...Punxsutawney Phil emerged just after dawn in front of an estimated 13,000 witnesses...According to German superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2 — the Christian holiday of Candlemas — winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow was seen, legend said spring would come early. Since 1887, Phil has seen his shadow 97 times, hasn't seen it 15 times, and there are no records for nine years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club."
I'm a nerd I know, but I like holidays and random facts about holidays. Happy Groundhog's day!
